In short, no. However, doing so can absolutely aid in showing up to the session with confidence, and that confidence always comes across in the images. I also have a small and trusted team of hair and makeup artists that are gifted in enhancing one’s natural beauty, without the clown-like effect that people can fear.
Do I need to invest in professional hair and makeup services?
I typically send between 10-15 options in a preview gallery. From that gallery, you can select three final, hand edited headshot files. Once you select your favorites, I will share a final gallery with a pin to download and begin using your images.
How many headshots can I expect to receive after the session:
Almost never. My headshot style is lifestyle-driven, meaning my headshots are taken in true--to-life environments (inside or out) and have a more approachable aesthetic. I don’t take the formal, corporate headshots that some companies require. If yours is one of them, I’d be happy to recommend another photographer who does this for you!
Do you use backdrops for your headshots?
Every image you see, including in your preview gallery, is hand edited by me. However, I am not a heavy handed editor, and some clients prefer certain retouches in their final images – examples can include teeth whitening, eye bag removal, body slimming. Those retouch requests can be handled and are done at a charge of $20/images.
